Bluetooth issue after Windows 10 anniversary update
I have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard (K810) and mouse (M535), along with some other Bluetooth devices such as a couple of speakers. This is all used with my 2015 Dell XPS laptop, and worked perfectly fine.
The Windows 10 anniversary update was installed, and since then I have had Bluetooth issues.
Basically what happens is all of a sudden all Bluetooth devices completely stop working. This can be while idle, or when using the machine (ie. typing using the BT keyboard). The mouse and keyboard of the laptop work fine still, just the BT devices do not work.
Looking into the Windows Bluetooth program, I can see the devices still detected. I can turn off/on the devices on the actual device, or even within the Windows Bluetooth program. No joy. I can even turn Bluetooth off/on on the PC, and still nothing, even though the devices will show up.
If I reboot at this point then it all works again fine once back up. This happens at most once a day, but normally once a week or so. And only since the Windows 10 anniversary update. Never ever happened before.
I've done all driver updates Dell listed, plus queried the MS forums (they said come here).
Any one else have the same issue, or have an idea how to fix?
Cheers
Is this battery life normal?
I have the Inspiron 15 7000, 4k touchscreen. I know that 4k takes some juice but the battery life is stiil abnormally low.
2 hours from 100% battery to 0, only running ms word, on lowest brightness and with battery safer on. No other programs running other than lightweight internet pages. My laptop is only 2 months old so dust can't really be the problem. Yet the fan is running most of thr time too, being really noisy in class.
Does anyone have an idea of what is going on or how to fix it?
Connecting Ubuntu Hyper-V instance to Wifi adapter on XPS13 9350 running Windows 10 Pro
Dear All (anybody)...
I'm very sorry to say this is driving me crazy. The Windows 10 Pro Hyper-v UI on my XPS 13 is fine for installing an Ubuntu 16.04.01 instance as a VM, very straight forward in fact. But when trying to connect the VM instance to the Broadcom Wifi via a virtual switch all options seem to go pear shaped.
I've tried external, internal & private switch connections from the UI & PowerShell, none seem to work. Feedback is minimal from the UI. From the PowerShell (as Administrator) when I try to connect the wifi via an external virtual switch, which I think is what I want to do, I get the following from the command line;
PS C:\WINDOWS\system32>$net = Get-NetAdapter -Name 'Wi-Fi'
PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> New-VMSwitch -Name "External VM Switch" -AllowManagementOS $True -NetAdapterName $net.Name
New-VMSwitch : Failed while adding virtual Ethernet switch connections.
Ethernet port '{57C955F7-E5F2-416A-91A8-ABA93AE5C469}' bind failed: Catastrophic failure (0x8000FFFF).

+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
+ CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [New-VMSwitch], VirtualizationException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : OperationFailed,Microsoft.HyperV.PowerShell.Commands.NewVMSwitch
I get something similar in the Hyper-V UI but the messaging is less helpful.
Private & internal switches just don't seem to work. I have followed Hyper-V & online instructions & Ubuntu just doesn't pick up the wifi.
Any thoughts anyone?

Help! I cannot download my PC's system recovery image from dell drivers website
I am trying to download my PC's recovery image operating system from the dell drivers uk site under the product I own (inspiron 7459 aio)
Whenever I try to download the image, it fails in the middle and the entire image file is corrupted, it always happens whenever I try downloading the image and I seriously need that image. My PC has now gone unstable, I had to do a clean install of windows 10 but every few months it gets corrupted with lots of drive errors, this pc was working perfectly with no errors before dell told me to delete the recovery partition, the dell technical support ruined my computer.
Can anyone please help me? How do I stop it from failing in the middle of downloading?
I feel like this system recovery is my only hope to get my PC back to the state like it was when I first got this PC.
(If this is not sorted out then I am no longer satisfied with my PC and will just return it and get a refund, because even the technical support will not help me out and instead bribing me saying I have to pay for the mistake they made which I will never do!!!)
X540-T2 causes boot failure if third DIMM slot is used
I am trying to install Intel X540-T2 (10 Gbps ethernet cards, Dell Part : 540-BBHD) in some Dell Optiplex 7040 (i5) machines.
The machines fail to boot unless I remove RAM from the third and fourth DIMM slots on the Optiplex's motherboard (reducing 32 to 16 GB RAM). I assume this is a memory mapping issue.
Is anyone aware of a BIOS issue causing this or have any suggestion on how to fix/work around this problem?
Replace Half-Height Mini-PCI Express Card of my Inspiron 15R 5520

Windows 10 Anniversary Update and Slow Internet Speeds
Both of my PCs did an automatic download and update to Windows 10 anniversary over a month ago, and have done a couple of more updates since then. Internet speeds have slowed from 30 to 60 Mbps (typical) to 5 to 12 Mbps since the updates. I did driver updates for my 802.11 b/g/n Dell adapters - no change. Same problem on any browser I try. Speeds on my iPhone are still around 30 to 60 Mbps so I know my ISP modem/router is fine. Then my laptop finally did its first and lengthy Windows 10 anniversary update this morning. I tested the speeds right away and they were in the usual 30 to 60 Mbps range. The laptop has a 802.11 ac adapter card. So the problem seems to be between Windows 10 anniversary version 1607 and my "older" 802.11 b/g/n network adapter cards. Other than replacing my PC network adapter cards... any suggestions?
Help diagnosing why my connection drops during uploads
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a new Dell Latitude E5570 with Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 8260 & Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I mostly have no issues with connections, I downloaded 40GB of Visual Studio without issue. However, whenever I try to upload files, even as small as 3MB, the connection drops completely. I will still be connected to my router but my download and upload rates drop to 0. If I quickly disconnect and reconnect to my router then it starts up again, and as long as I'm not uploading anything it works perfectly. But as soon as an upload starts again, or if an upload continues after reconnecting, the connection drops off in a matter of seconds.
I have other devices on the same network and they're not facing the same issues, so I feel it's just some form of configuration issue on my new laptop. I've run driver checks through the Dell Command Update software and everything is up to date. I've also tried different web browsers and seen no improvement. Does anybody recognise the issue with uploads causing connection issues or have any suggestions for how I might try to solve it?
Thanks for your help,
Dan

Inspiron 3147 will not connect to internet
Computer has worked flawlessly but now suddenly does not connect to internet. Diagnostics indicate network adapter is working fine. I tried wiring it directly (through USB adapter) and it does not find connection then either. Any help would be appreciated. (Wireless and wired connections are working fine on other connected devices in the household.)
Very slow internet browsing on brand new XPS 13 9360 over Wifi.
Problem
After receiving my brand new XPS 13 I noticed the internet browsing was very slow at times over my Wifi connection. Expecially with web pages that pull in a lot of contact using ajex calls after the initial page load.
There was nothing wrong with the Wifi signal or the internet connection itself since other devices showed a good internet speed. Also, downloading files over Wifi was good.
Fix
After installing all the latest drivers I finally fixed the issue by disabling the QOS packet sheduler option on the Wireless network adapter. Finally the browsing experience returned back to normal.
Question
While this fix works for me I wonder if this is the recommended fix or if there are any other better solutions.

Dell Sonicwall Content Filtering Client Licensing adds additional cost to use your CFS Premier License - Shame on Dell
Client just upgraded to TZ 400 with 3 years of Total Secure services and licenses. Having been a long time user of CFS they were stunned to find out they have to spend another $400 plus dollars for 3 years to use a web based service that is a pain to configure. Not only that, they could not import their multitude of policies.. This has resulted in a request to locate a different UTM manufacturer with similar capabilities to the Sonicwall UTMs. This is not mentioned in any upgrade/migration document I have yet found.
I believe it is unforgivable of Dell to make such a drastic change to operations without stating clearly, frequently and loudly about the Content Filtering licensing change. I know of two clients of mine you will lose with the next upgrade.

Wrong WWAN Card? No connection.
Hello all. New E7450 with antenna wires for the WWAN card. I purchased a Sierra Wireless EM7305/DW5809E card. Installed it and inserted my sim card. My card is an AT&T data card that is current and used only for Data on my Samsung Laptop. Works fine on there. Here is a few scenarios of what happened and how it is right now. My assumption is that I have the wrong card. When I read the description it says its for 4G/LTE, etc but carriers supported are Vodafone, Telstra. It does not say anything about AT&T. When I look at the Sierra Wireless website it shows the EM7355 as the correct card for AT&T. I know what you are all thinking, why not just return it and order the right card. Well, when I first the card in and inserted the sim card, I started the laptop up and went to connection manager and did a search for carriers under the Mobile Broadband section and it searched and found AT&T and actually worked for about 2 minutes. I then remembered that the seller had a link on his listing for the driver. I uploaded the driver and after that nothing. So here is what is happening and what I have tried.
1. Card Installed with windows driver installed automatically. Says no service, and when I try to find a service it just searches and searches. I know its installed and working because if I remove the sim it says, "insert sim".
2. Download the driver from Dell after installing the card and the card goes away, I cannot see it anymore under the connection manager. I have to uninstall driver, remove card, restart and then install the card again.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Known issue with dell laptops losing internet connection
Dell sell their products with known problems.
My one year and five days Inspiron laptop keeps on losing the internet connection. I have to restart the computer each time. I primarily use this computer for my homework and tests. Imagine how many times I got in trouble because I lost the internet connection while taking a quiz or a test online.
The problem started barely a month or two after I bought it. I sent them an email at the time and never got a reply. Recently, I replied to one of the countless emails they sent me about extending the warranty to explain the issue. I got an answer saying "call tech support. This email is about your warranty". They are only concerned about collecting money but there is no customer service
I called tech support. First of all, the first lady just answered and was chatting with her coworker for about 2 minutes until she acknowledged me. I explained the problem and she transferred me because my warranty expired. They knew already what it was and how to fix it. The second tech even clearly told me that he had this problem with multiple customers today and they fixed the issue the same way. But since my warranty expired 5 days ago, I had to pay $100 for a one-time service or $200 for one-year.
I talked to a supervisor and even to corporate office. None of them could even decline it's a known problem. I mention 20 times the countless reviews on Google about the same issue and what the tech even told me. All they kept saying is "if your warranty expired, it expired. Whether it's 2 seconds or 5 days you will have to pay for the service".
Never will I buy a Dell product again
SIM Card
I have a laptop dell E5450 - I have put a sim card - it does have a slot for a sim card, but it doesn`t work. I can`t find in the options to have other internet except the WLAN. What should I do?
MOBILE BROADBAND CARD WOES on Dell E7240
So my laptop wouldn't allow me to connect to the internet using the onboard mobile broadband card, kept asking for sim pin 2 which the network operator had no clue about. After fiddling around, the Mobile Icon is completely missing, and the cellular network connection is missing as well. Can someone please help me with getting the hardware installed again?
Thanks!
