Fixing Error: Notification dll has not been registered, program will not work properly (Windows 32bit [x86])

Open an elevated command prompt.

To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click "Command Prompt", and then click Run as administrator.

In Windows 8, go to the Start screen. Start typing cmd and Windows will find "Command Prompt". Right click "Command Prompt" and choose Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.

Type regsvr32 wltrynt.dll and press Enter.

Bluetooth adapter missing after upgrade to windows 10 BUT OS claims a new driver is installed!

I could not find Bluetooth options any more once I upgraded to Win 10. I followed the instructions in  but rather than the code installing, I got a message saying that a newer version of the driver was already installed. It stopped the installation. I cannot find evidence of that driver on the system.

Reinstalled Windows 7 64 bit and bluetooth/wifi no longer works...

Dell Inspiron M5040

When I press Fn + F2..nothing turns on.

Opened up BIOS but Wireless was not even an option.

I downloaded all the drivers in the way they were listed from the Dell Support site but still nothing. Wifi will not turn on without bluetooth turning on.

bttray also does not bring up anything.

BROADBAND card for Studio 1737

I have 4G LTE/WCDMA/GSM cell service and want to add my laptop without having to use a dongle hotspot. I can use my cell as a hotspot, but the connection drains the phone's battery power very quickly.

I want to know which WWAN card can be used with my Studio 1737 that will allow me to connect to my carrier's 4G broadband service.

I've looked at Dell Wireless DW5804, E371 PCI-E 3G/4G, card specs. My laptop is not listed as compatible... However, I think there should be a modification that will allow the card to work in my laptop.

I hope someone can respond with a workable solution.

I am running W10, 64 bit OS.

Dell XPS8300 - problem replacing DW1501 network card with DW1520

Dell XPS 8300 came from Dell running Win7 with the DW1501 network card. Ordered a new DW1520 card, opened 8300 desktop, removed the DW1501 and installed the DW1520 in the same slot..(2) connectors, lift (2) "tabs/clips", lift out of socket...very simple to do.  Powered 8300, went to Device Manager, found the DW1520 not recognized as Network Adapter, and has yellow triangle next to it (see below).  Used my laptop to download driver (R283192.exe) from Dell, extracted it on to the 8300 with no problems. Went to Device Manager to "Update Driver Software", browsed to the location of the new driver, and got error "Windows could not find driver software for your device".

I have physically un-installed and re-installed the new card in the 8300...same problem.  If the card was defective, would it even be seen in Device Manager?

Can anyone help with this?

Optiplex 5040 - NIC getting disabled in BIOS on restart

We recently did a computer refresh of ~200 machines with Optiplex 5040's.  So far we've got about 8 machines that will randomly(but frequently) change the BIOS NIC setting to disabled when they hard restart.

We've updated the BIOS to 1.4.4 and have made sure to save the changes and set them as default when we enable the NIC's.

Since these are new machines under warranty we will probably go that route, but figured I'd check here and see if anyone else has been down this road.

Dell Force10 port/VLAN issue

Okay, I'm a Cisco guy. Their language is simple, you setup the VLAN, switchport access vlan-- you're set. I'm trying to do the same on this Force10 and having a *** of a time.

All I'm wanting to do is take a group of ports (single or individually) and assign them to a VLAN, that's it. In researching this, there are no links and people keep talking about tagged and untagged, etc.

So, let's take example port 19. I verified it's part of VLAN2. So, went into config for VLAN2, tried to untag it, which worked. Switched over to VLAN10, tried to tag it, got a mismatch. From there, I tried putting the port in hybrid mode (as suggested by others), to which it barked at me that it's a layer 2 port and cannot be put in that mode.

Can anyone assist, please?

Modem in use by other application

I've got a Dell 8300 w/internal faxmodem, running Windows XP SP3. When I try to send a fax, using the Microsoft software, the app indicates the modem is in use, but I can't find any other such app running.

I tried to remove the modem in Device Manager, and allowed PnP to detect it. No issues there, but the faxing problem is still there.

I tried PhoneTray software (voice mail/callerid) and it works fine, w/o the line in use error. Just in case, I disabled this software in startup. So it seems like the modem is OK. If there really is a mystery app using the modem, why does PhoneTray not  have the problem?

Anyone have any ideas?

Two Dells not communicating

I have a Dell Inspiron desktop with Windows 7 and a Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows 10 connected to router via Ethernet. Both recognize each other in Explorer but both give me "cannot access" when trying to view files in shared folders. Diagnostics gives me "missing network protocols" but doesn't tell me where to get and install said protocols. Is there a fix for this, or other troubleshooting steps?

DELL Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card Driver Issues after upgrading to Windows 10.

Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop. Recently, I upgraded to Windows 10. Since, then  I am not able to switch on the wifi in my laptop. I tried to update the driver as well, however, it says the driver is already up to date for this device. Under the driver details the driver date is shown as March 14, 2012, which I believe is the older version and the system doesn't allow me to update to the latest one. Is there an resolution for this issue?

internet fail despite functioning ethernet and wireless hardware

I've got a 2014 XPS 8700 that has been working well, Windows 8, then 8.1, upgraded to 10 last year.

The machine was working well this morning, but on restarting this evening there is no internet connection (the usual reboots all round).

The router is working with other PCs via wifi and ethernet.

The machine is testing the ethernet Realtek PCle GBE family adapter(PCI slot 2)  as functioning, but no ethernet connection - won't even talk to the router directly to see the settings. The Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 7260 (PCI slot 7) can see the router's wifi (even bluetooth), but won't connect.

So, if it was just the ethernet adapter I'd say replace that, but the dual band wifi too? Am i looking at a more fundamental comm failure on the motherboard?

Anyhow, if anyone has words of wisdom, I'd be grateful. Thanks,

Joe

Inspiron 15R intel centrino wireless-n 2230 issues

Hello everyone,

after six months of googlin, seeking for help and reinstalling the system, i am still hopeless with this problem.

Lets summarize it:

Dell Inspiron 5521

Windows 10 HOME, 1511, 64bit

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230

Current driver: Intel 15.16.0.2, 06.01.2015

Issue:

After few minutes connected (sometimes it holds more then 20 min, but sometimes it connect after restart, but before i can even start browser, it drops) wifi drops connection. When I try automaticaly recover wifi connection, sometimes it just said "bad gateway" and works well for next few minutes. But mostly it tries to restart wifi adapter. Then this happens: adapter have issue (can't start or find driver) or this recover uninstall adapter driver. Then i have to restart pc, it will instal driver and everythink happens again.

This problem occurs after some actualization from Windows early after upgrading from Win 8 to Win 8.1.

I've tried:

Resolve it with power managing - doesn't help.

Tries newest/oldes driver from Dell suport and from Intel websites. Doesn't help.

I can't install Intel software for wifi because some issues during installation.

Install brand new Windows 10, 64bit with new drivers. No change.

I've read many topics about this. Nothink helps. I had this problem about 3 month before, but i did somethink (have no idea what) and problem disappear for cca 2 months. Now it's back.

I've tried use your troubleshooting web app and automatical driver actualization. It provides me some wlan-report with some errors. But it is useless for me.

Please help me,

thank you

Dell Mini Card & bluetooth not working on Dell XPS L501X

I have a Dell XPS 15 Laptop (L501X)...and have recently upgraded to Windows 10. My broadband SIMCARD (embedded in PC) does not seem to work, neither does my bluetooth. I am not sure if this has come with the original order of the Laptop, as I have just recently purchased it on eBay, from the USA.

I have downloaded all the relevant drivers, to no avail. The wireless works well on the my wireless network we have around our home, as well as the hardwire cable connection,

I also have a Dell XPS L502X, which has all the features and works well, with no issues.

Please help.

Dell insprion 3521 Wifi download speed slow

$

(Support Info)  All of my other wireless units(1 laptop & 3 tablets) are able to run at 15-17 Mbps download speeds from my Belkin N150 router connected to Brighthouse networks 15Mbps internet service.

My Dell Inspirion 15R 3521 purchased in 2013 and had to have the wireless card replaced under warranty shortly after purchasing(because I couldn't connect to the internet) won't run at greater than 2Mbps. It has no problem connecting to the internet but its worthless trying to stream or download large files because of the speed.

I've tried getting help from Dell without avail, I've had the hardware checked out by my own diagnostics and an outside source and found to be ok but those checked only if the network card would connect and not anything about the speed. When Dell put in the replacement network card could that cause the speed to run slow???

I would surely appreciate some help if someone that knows the problem could help me.

Thank you, Willi81
