Hi Rick: I followed your direction fine until I got to the config screen and there was nothing that said: DEFAULT GATEWAY so I didn't have a number to type in.   On the config screen:

Wireless LAN adapter Local Area Connection #12 Media State.....Media state disconnected Physical address...16-17-31-94-03-41 DHCP enabled...yes Auto configuration enabled....yes

Wireless LAN adaptor WiFi Media State...Media disconnected Description....DellWireless 1703 802.11b/g/n <2.4ghz> Physical address...A4-17-31-94-03-4F Auto configuration enabled....yes

Ethernet adaptor Bluetooth Network Connector Physical address...A4-17-31-94-03-50 DNCP enabled...yes Auto configuration enabled...yes

Once I got to the configuration screen I opened Internet Explorer and the screen jumped to new screen with message: You're not connected

Regarding by Belkin router: The costco salesman assured me it would work with any laptop I purchased and it was complete I didn't need anything else to get it working. The only instructions are a large card with picture directions and minimal words. I removed the "key card" from the bottom of the router that has the network name, password security key and security type numbers. The picture instructions show to insert the "key card" into a smart phone or laptop. But I can not see where it could possible insert into my laptop. I have searched the small print on the router box and find an issue date of 2012. A logo picture does state: Ideal for huluplus vudu/HD Movies then in tiny print: HuluPlus subscription required (not included) Vudu requires a media-streaming device (not included). I have no idea what those are. Also this AC900 (DB) by Belkin is suppose to work with Windows v7 or above (I have v8). The reason I need a router is because I live in the country and I cannot get wireless so I'm told I need a router. I was assured this router would be sufficient to reach the 100' from the WildBlue Internet box.

I so appreciate your help...I feel so helpless, I'm such a novice at this.
