Hello;
I contacted a virus and had to do a dell factory restore, which deleted all of my Device Drivers. After I successfully installed Windows 7 with supplied Dell CD, Windows works fine, except I am unable to connect to the Internet. When I tried to reinstall the device drivers, I discovered to my horror, that the supplied CD ‘Drivers and documentation’ does not contain the actual drivers but some incomplete and useless documentation...I used my other PC ‘Dell XPS’ laptop to download the drivers suggested in the Dell Support site for my service tag, and transfer them over using a flash drive. I have tried for hours and days to reinstall, most of them successfully, but since I have no access to the Internet, I cannot get any Dell on-line help or diagnostics. Also, I cannot discover from my documentation the name of my Network Adapter, to enable me to download the proper driver/s.
Since I am outside Dell's warranty support since May12, does anyone know if there a CD/DVD available for sale from Dell or any other site, which I can use to restore my system and re-install all Device drivers, especially ones that would allow me to connect to the Internet, and if not, could anyone please inform me which drivers I need to download and install to enable me to connect to the Web? The ones recommended for 'Network' in Dell’s support site, deal with Bluetooth installation, and it is of no use to me.
My PC is a studioXPS 8100 desktop
Thank you, and 'Happy Holidays’ to all!
