Internet Icon Displaying Incorrect Image (Connected to internet, but still shows Red X)

Hello,

I have Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron N5010.

I have had this problem for several weeks, and have searched all over to find a solution (tried them all, but none have fixed it). I have a good wireless internet connection, and sometimes I use ethernet. Despite having such connections, my wireless interneticon doesn't change, as it seems to keep getting stuck on the icon which shows a red x over the ethernet image.

It will show the blue loading ring with the bars as it searches for a wireless connection for a little bit, but then it goes to the same, incorrect icon, even though when I put the cursor over the icon it says "Internet Access".

Any new ideas would help immensely.

So far, I've tried deleting the Icon Cache and rebooting, as it was suggested that it could be potentially corrupted, but the internet icon stays the same. I have also tried searching for a driver that could be potentially related to the issue and uninstalling it, but it didn't work. The red x went away for a moment, being replaced by a loading blue ring, but then the red x returned (same icon image).

Is there a specific driver for the icon itself? I know I had to uninstall a driver then reboot to get my battery icon back after it mysteriously disappeared. I also have tried deactivating/reactivating my wireless connection by hitting the button, but it doesn't change.

Thanks!
