Hi nrothaar,
However, you may try the following steps as they have produced positive results in some cases; this is only a work around and may not work for you.
- Click http://dell.to/UXwPaF to access the 'Bluetooth card' driver compatible with 'Windows 7'
- Download and save this file (R226750.exe) on the 'Desktop screen'
- Double-click this file; the 'self-extractor window' appears
- Extract files to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R226750
- (Manually) Open the path 'C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R226750' and open the folder 'Win32/Win64' (Open Win32 if Windows 8 32 bit is installed in your computer; else open 'Win64')
- Locate the file 'Inst.exe' (Refer to the image below)
- Right click file 'Inst'
- Click 'Run as an administrator'
- Click 'Yes' to continue if prompted with 'User access control' message
- Follow through with the installation as per the screen instructions
- Finish the installation and check for the Bluetooth functionality
- If issue persists, try using the 'setup' file to install drivers in compatibility mode (Next Step)
Install 'Setup.exe' file in 'compatibility Mode'
- Open the folder 'Win32 or Win64' (Based on which make of Operating system is installed in your laptop - Windows 8 32bit or 64bit)
- Right click ‘Setup’ file and click ‘Properties’
- Click “Install in compatibility mode’
- Click on Application and select ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’
- Next, click on ‘Troubleshoot Program’
- Click on Program worked in earlier versions of Windows
- Click on ‘Windows 7’
- Click on ‘Start the Program’
- Do not hit ‘Next’ until the installation completes
- Once the installation completes, click on ‘Next’
Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any further questions. I would be glad to help.http://dell.to/OgPlyC
