After you installed the operating system with the operating system disk...
Put in the Dell Drivers disk and look under system utilities and install the system utility(if applicable)
Restart the computer and install the chipset drivers.
Restart the computer and install the Ethernet adapter and the wireless drivers,
Restart the computer, then install Dell Quickset.
You should be able to get online, if not wireless, wired to download the rest of the drivers.
Since you did not mention the model of your computer, this is the basics.
