I have 2 Optiplex 990s running on Server 2008R2 LAN and both have had period recurrent issues losing connection to server and being extremely reluctant to re-join. Most recent event was apparent overnight power blink off not unusal for our office building causing server to reboot. Second optiplex would not boot simply went to blank black screen. Machine has broadcom 1G NIC installed and second machine onboard NIC simply hung for about 3 minutes than came back to normal operation. Fix on second machine was to log on to local machine and go into netwrk card setup and made small change for alternate DNS server than changed it back just to kind of kick it back to life and wholla it started up normally. Weird.
