Thanks, Andrew. I downloaded the driver and it did not work at first. However, it ultimately was the one I needed. The I found the Networking forum and the first posting was labeled "Read Me First" by a Rick K. In it he listed steps to take if the OS had to be totally installed from scratch. It listed various drivers and the order they should be installed in. I found four items to reload/re-install from the list he posted and did it in the order suggested. The Quickset would not install as I received a message the "This is not a supported system. Setup cannot complete". The wireless still did not work after installing the network driver (R155386) so I scanned the files that were loaded and got down to C:\Dell\Drivers\R155386\XP\Drivers and found the file DPInst32 (there's also a 64 bit one). This is the driver package installer and after executing it, a series of drivers were installed and the WIFI light initiated. Once I went to my networking set-up and set-up the wireless configuration, everything is now working and I have network access. Thanks again for the replying so promptly and setting me on the correct path.
