Wireless signal drops by half when passing through routers connected to Windows 8 Dell Inspirion 2330

I get 4 mbps DSL service from my ISP. When I connect directly into my new Dell Inspirion 2330 All in One computer, I get that 4 mbps consistently. When I add a router in order to try to get two other computers hooked up wirelessly and to use my Roku, my speed drops to below 2.0 mbps. I've tried two Netgear N600 routers (both returned as they did not seem to work), and today I tried a Linksys E2500. All three routers act the same way; within a minute of hooking up the ISP's modem, the computer and the router,  the 4.0 mbps drops to less than 2.0 mbps.

Is there something about the Dell that is not configured correctly? Is there some device like a wireless card inside the Dell that I don't know about that is causing the computer and router to confuse each other when an ethernet cable is hooked between the computer and the router?  Can something about Windows 8 be causing this problem?

This problem has stumped numerous tech support people at Netgear and Linksys, as well as my ISP technicians. It has crippled me from using other computers or downloading movies because the connection is now too slow.

I have spent more than 10 hours working with various technicians on this problem, but not yet with Dell. Can someone help me?
