Since about 6 months I am facing the same problem. Everytime I login in my user account, router restarts, but later will run ok until it goes back to sleep.
I complained to Primus Canada; they sent me new modem about 3 months ago (they seem to be good). But just few days after installing new modem complain restart. Since 2 days it is so bad that I can't even press the icon of internet explorer. If I do so, immediately on openning of i-explorer, router restarts. Now this problem has extended to my other acer aspire 9300 laptop, 2 ipods, and mini acer happy one net book. If I keep my Dell Inspiron 17R ON and connected with wi-fi, and at same time if I open browser in other laptops or Safari browser i-pod, immediately router restarts!!!
I have come out with working solution. Now(since 1 day) I have started using Belkin mini wireless adapter F7D2102, since then absolutely NO PROBLEM...
You can try the same.
My Dell Inspiron has Intel-Centrino n1030 adapter.
