My host laptop is the xps12 with Windows 8 and I am connecting to the internet via wi-fi. I have a Windows 8 Hyper-V VM. In Hyper-V manager I have a single Virtual Switch with a connection type "External Network"
When I load my VM the internet works for a short time within the VM and then arbitrarily stops. Once it has stopped I go to the host and can browse the internet. Some minutes later the host internet will cease to work. If I go back to the VM, the internet has then started to function again. It seems that only one instance of my internet connection (host or VM) will work at once and they switch after some time. If I reset the chosen External network in Hyoer-V Manager to Nothing and then back to the Intel value above it starts working immediately in the VM. If I shut down the VM, my host internet connectivity doesn't come back immediately, however if I disconnect and reconnect to my wifi it re-connects.
Does anyone have any idea what night be causing this and would be able to offer a solution?
Thanks in advance!
Anthony
