I had just recently received a new laptop for Christmas, the Dell Inspiron 17R. The laptop was able to identify my router, but is unable to connect to any website. However, it works very well with an Ethernet cable. After failed attempts of updating the drivers, I traded the laptop back to Best Buy thinking the network card was defective for another Dell Inspiron 17R SE 7720. However, the same problem arose again.
I've tried uninstalling McAfee, I've unplugged and plugged my router, installed driver updates, and have even tried other wireless networks to no avail.
My home router is a Linksys
Excellent signal strength
WEP security type;
Radio type 802.11n
Network card for the Dell Inspiron 17R 7720 is an Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230
Seeing how other users are having similar problems with the same network card and laptop, I'm wondering if something is wrong with the network card itself.
