Hi JayWilliams21,

I understand that the drivers for Windows 8 are not available for this wireless card, however, at times installing the Windows 7 drivers in compatibility mode might fix the issue or you may also try installing the generic drivers from the Intel website. You may follow the steps below :

  • Save the Windows 7 wireless driver on your desktop: http://dell.to/ZU15Yb
  • Right Click the driver installation file and select Properties -- > Compatibility Tab
  • Select Windows 7 from the list in the following image.

  • Click Apply -- > OK
  • Right Click the file and select the Run As Administrator option to install.
  • Follow the on screen instructions and restart the system after the installation.

If the issue persists, then you may try downloading and installing the generic Intel drivers from the Intel website : http://intel.ly/113bUIN

If the above two methods does not work then you can purchase a wireless card compatible with Windows 8. You may consider the following wireless half mini cards :

  • Intel® Centrino® Ultimate 6300
  • Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235
  • Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6205
  • Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N WiMAX 6150
  • Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230
  • Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2200

You can compare the wireless cards on the link : http://intel.ly/133sVYq

Please reply for any clarifications.
