It's been a few years since I posted this fix with the link state power management settings. I just wanted to verify the reason this can become an issue is by simply changing when the Desktop or Laptop goes to sleep or Hibernates. This is not an operating system flaw. If you want to verify this condition without performing the forementioned tweak to the LSPM settings. Simply go into the control panel and select hardware and sound then power options. Click on change settings for the already marked power plan and set the Display to never and set Sleep to never. If you don't drop your connection use the above tweak to customize the settings for the network adapters in the Device Manager. I've made this tweak to many laptops and Desktops since I found out the issue with LSPM and it works. This tweak can be applied to any manufacturer that uses the windows based operating system. Good luck all.
