Hotspots or PCIE

Our school has this internet connection "hotspot" at different places and conference rooms which is included in our fees. Hence, it is right for us to utilize this. However, before we can utilize the wifi connection, we must register to their database first. I'm done with the registration. Nothing wrong happened during then. My first two weeks using the connection was fine and smooth. Unfortunately, one day, I badly need internet connection to cram a homework but my laptop was not able to connect. Hence, I assumed that the connection itself had a problem but the people around can connect. There is something wrong here. So I went to one of technical support in our school. He advised me to re-register again. I did as he said. I followed the instructions carefully but my laptop still doesn't connect to internet. Our school also had these PCIE slots at walls. Since the wifi issue can't be resolved I decided to look for PCIE connectors at home. Fortunately, I found one and tested it with our modem. However, still, I can't connect (I actually turned off the wifi recognition of my laptop).  At home, I can connect to our internet (through our wireless modem) but at school I can't connect to our wifi hotspot and even through wire PCIE. Can someone help me with this problem? I'm using Dell Inspiron N4050.
